Cruciate Ligament Repair
This is similar to an ACL tear in humans. This is one of the most common injuries we see in veterinary medicine and therefore, one of the most common procedures that is performed by our mobile Board Certified Veterinary Specialists. This condition occurs when the knee ligament experiences tearing (can be complete or partial) causing discomfort, instability, and abnormal joint movement. The 2 most common procedures to correct this are the TPLO or Tibial-plateau-leveling-osteotomy and ECR or Extracapsular Suture Repair. We will discuss which option is best for your pet based on their age, size and breed and be with you every step of the way throughout the recovery phase.
