Advanced Ultrasonography Diagnostics
At Canyon Falls Veterinary Hospital, we use advanced ultrasound technology to provide non-invasive, real-time imaging for pets. Ultrasounds use sound waves to create images of areas inside the body. It allows us to image the structure of the internal organs of the abdominal cavity and can provide more details than we can detect with plain film X-rays. We can also biopsy organs if needed in order to more accurately make diagnoses. Your pet will typically need to be lightly sedated for this procedure to allow accurate imaging and will need to be fasted prior to the procedure and have the hair on their abdomen shaved to allow proper visualization.
